Rhetorical pattern of the Indonesian EFL undergraduate students’ writings

چکیده

The present research aimed to study the rhetorical patterns in students’ writings, whether they follow a deductive pattern or an inductive pattern, and is similar when writing English Indonesian language. sample for this was 20 undergraduate students from Faculty of Teacher Training Education majoring several universities Indonesia. Participants were requested write two essays email-format letters, one each written English, other results showed that all preferred their types essays. However, letter writing, more than one, with 12 using letters 16 Indonesian. It suggested culture teaching instructions received classrooms may influence choice use different writings. findings should give valuable information design courses majors
